Various Dry Cleaners Donate Unclaimed Clothes To Needy
With hundreds of items of clothing going in and out of dry cleaners every day, there is bound to be something left behind. With our busy lives, it's not uncommon that someone just forgets to pick up their items. What happens to those unclaimed items?
The Korean Dry Cleaners Association of New York gathered over 80 boxes of unclaimed items including coats, suits and pants. Their 'Clothes of Love' program has been working to collect items over a 6 month period. Launderers from around the city donated over 2,000 pieces that were donated to New York's homeless and needy population.
Over the past 30 years, the group as donated over tens of thousands of clothes to homeless shelters across the city. These unclaimed items obviously aren't missed by their owners; so they can go to people who need them more.
