Petco's 'Be a Lifesaver' Works to Make a Difference in the Lives of Animals
With so many negative stories in our news, it can be difficult for us to find some positivity in our world. Sometimes we have to just go out and create our own positivity. One way we can do this is by fostering a pet. It's a simple and effective way of creating a difference in the world around us.

Fostering a pet is one of the best ways you can be a lifesaver for pets. The Petco Foundation is a leader in animal welfare. They are currently celebrating their annual "Be a Lifesaver" initiative. This initiative encourages people to take small and large actions to make a difference for animals by promoting everyday lifesavers. The Petco Foundation has recognized 50 people across the United States as "All-Star Fosters." Each All-Star Foster was nominated by their local animal welfare organization for their lifesaving efforts and will receive a $150 shopping spree for supplies to support their work.

The Petco Foundation president commented on this good dead by saying "Saving the animals in our nation's shelters is solvable when the community participates. An important part of that effort includes those individuals who step up in their communities and take action like fostering a pet. Our 'Be a Lifesaver' initiative aims to inspire people to get involved to help the animals and when a person fosters a pet we get closer to becoming a lifesaving nation."

Check out this video of Tia, a tiny kitten, who inspired lifesaver Christina Ha to found Cat Camp and Meow Parlour:
