This Restaurant Has Only 6 Items On The Menu
The Independent ran a story about British-born chef Douglas McMaster opening the first zero-waste restaurant in the UK, an emerging trend in the restaurant industry to reduce food waste. Restaurants produce an estimated eight gallons of trash every hour. McMaster's restaurant the Silo, which is in Brighton, will feature only six items on the menu, no food will be thrown away, and all of it locally grown.
One Chicago restaurant, Sandwich Me In, went totally trash free by recycling, reusing or composting its waste. Watch the video below to learn how the restaurant does it.
