This 5-Year-Old Delivered The Coolest First Pitch Ever
Hailey Dawson was born with a very rare condition called Poland Syndrome. The five year old was born with an underdeveloped right hand. She has a wrist and a palm, but little fingers. Thankfully, with help from the UNLV engineering department, Hailey has been given a robotic hand, printed from a 3D printer. They even personalized it for Hailey, a big Baltimore Orioles fan, decorating it in Orioles orange, with the familiar Baltimore bird printed on it. But does this flashy new hand work?
That’s where the actual Orioles come in. On August 17th, Hailey delivered the first pitch at Orioles Park with her robotic hand. It was a perfect strike to Orioles star Manny Machado.
