The Strength Of The Bush Family Is Awe-Inspiring
The strength of a family bond is incredible and (hopefully) stands the test of time. The Bush family, including President George H.W. Bush, his son President George W. Bush and daughters, have a very unique and heartwarming family dynamic. The release of George W. Bush's biography of his father sparked an interview with Jenna Hager Bush and her father and 'Gampy' about their relationship and family. Not only has their family stayed close through each new election. debate and tabloid scandal; they just keep getting stronger and closer. My favorite part of the interview was the following recalled memory. “I don't know if you remember in 1984, when you came to Midland, Texas, and Jenna came on the stage, and kept lifting up her skirt in front of the crowd,” President George W. Bush said to his dad. “I was just trying to get you elected. I was four,” Jenna laughed before pointing out how understanding her grandfather is. “You were tolerant, Gamps. You were a great grandfather. You are a great grandfather.” They go on to talk about the family's unexpected friendship with rival Bill Clinton, and how hearing negative comments about family in the news is difficult but only makes you stronger as a person. I never knew much about the Bush family, but this interview has shown them to me in a new light; a very loving light.
