Really Great Dane Helps Girl With Bone Disorder Get Around
You have probably heard stories about heroic service dogs. The most common are those who help the blind; like a golden retriever or lab. But this service dog is very different.
Bella Burton was born with Morquio syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects her bones and greatly limits her mobility. She could only get around with a wheelchair or crutches... until George came along. This some-hundred pound Great Dane is not only Bella's support but also her best friend.
"I lean on him like a crutch," Bella told ABC News of her canine companion. He walks with her around school, while she plays and even sleeps with her at night. He refuses to leave her side. This pair has a bond like no other!
