Police Officer Helps Woman Finish Her First 10K
Finishing a 10k is no easy task. Even people in great shape have trouble. Asia Ford participated in her first 10k race recently. What's even more impressive is that she just lost 200 pounds! Still not in the shape she strives to be, she gave the race all she had. When she started having difficulty continuing due to breathing and physical problems, she received the push she needed.
A Louisville police officer offered encouraging words and his arm to the struggling runner. The photos that were captured are everything wonderful. You can see him encouraging her to finish, and that's just what she needed. Asia explained what had happened with a post on Facebook, "I messed up and forgot to eat this morning, Lungs still under construction from the pneumonia and on top of all this at mile 4 my son TJ took my hand and ems stopped because I almost had a slip up with my breathing but a police officer by the name of Mr Gregory got out and took my hand to finish the race with my baby and I and WE MADE IT!!! This 6.2 miles meant more to me than any race ever so my message today is, You don't have to be 1st, AS LONG AS U DON'T GIVE UP AND U FINISH…YOU ARE A WINNER!"
Strangers helping strangers are types of kindness acts that make this world go round!
