Man Who Walks 21 Miles To Work Gets $140K Surprise From Stranger
A few days ago James Robertson's daily routine was anything but easy. Because of low funds, he was unable to afford a car forcing him to walk to work every day. For some, this may not present a problem - but for James work was over 20 miles away. Each day without complaint James walked a total of 21 miles to get himself to and from work. Things turned around for Robertson once the Detroit Free Press told his story. Evan Leedy, 19, a complete stranger to Roberston, started a crowd-funding site which raised over $140,000. The two men had the chance to meet. "I'm always going to be in your debt — I will never forget this," Robertson told Leedy. Robertson has years of perfect attendance at his factory job and clearly earned this money. Hard work and dedication sure do pay off. And it doesn't hurt when you have kind people like Leedy and all who donated on your side. Robertson says he is looking at a Ford for his next vehicle, "I'm a Ford fan. I remember the Taurus. They look comfortable, nothing fancy. They're simple on the outside, strong on the inside — like me."
