Man Turns Plastic Bags Into Future Highways
Plastic bags are a major source of litter. They are everywhere, hanging from tree branches, blowing in the wind, clogging up sewers and even oceans. Worse still, they never biodegrade.
But one man in India has found a new use for plastic litter. According to an article in Business Week, Rajagopalan Vasudevan discovered that plastic bags and litter make a good substitute for bitumen , an oil-based substance, used in asphalt to pave roadways. Environmentalists call his technology wonderful and believe it could clean up India's garbage problem.
