Honoring Sir Nicolas Winton on World Human Spirit Day
Instead of going on a planned ski vacation back in 1938, London Stockbroker Sir Nicolas Winton went to Prague at a friend's urging. After witnessing the deplorable conditions at a refugee camp there, he returned home to set up his own rescue operation, since there was nothing available for the children of Czechoslovakia. Winton was able to provide safe transport for 669 children, many who were able to thank him in person as adults during this heart-warming 1988 episode of BBC's "That's Life."
