Healing PTSD One Hug At A Time Thanks To The Human Hug Project And Super 8 Motels
The Human Hug Project is made up of three Veterans with three different lives, but all face one obstacle - PTSD. Together, they are the Human Hug Project. Ian Michael is a US Marine Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Gino Greganti is a US Marine veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. Erin Greganti is a Marine Corps wife who experienced war and its aftermath at home. HooplaHa - Only Good News was lucky enough to spend time with them this year.
The Human Hug Project is using their own experience with isolation, anxiety and depression to help other veterans cope with theirs – all through the healing power of a simple hug. Their objective is a simple one: to travel across the country giving out hugs at VA hospitals. Human Hug Project has visited more than 50 VA facilities, but are aiming to hit every VA in the country.
Super 8 Motels partnered with the non-profit organization to help them along their journey and to share their experiences with others. To kick off this partnership, the brand launched Super 8 Stories: From the Road, a docu-style video highlighting how the founders are looking to help other military members and veterans, as well as themselves, one hug at a time.
At Super 8, heroes are always welcome. Learn more on how the brand salutes our military, including a 20% discount off a veteran's next Super 8 stay (booked now through Dec 4, 2017) and their Veteran Preferred Parking spots by visiting super8.com/military.
We celebrate all veterans this Veterans Day, especially Ian, Gino, and Erin from the Human Hug Project.
