Community Builds "Dream Backyard" For Boy With Cancer
As a kid, especially, playing outside is a crucial part of growing up. But for Bryan Carroll he doesn't get out much. The 7-year-old was diagnosed with leukemia laster year and has to avoid crowds. Bryan spends most of his time inside, missing the outdoors.
The community stepped in when family friend Leanne Christie had a wonderful idea. Over 50 volunteers came together to build a backyard oasis for Bryan and his family. To give Bryan a safe place to play, the community put together his new backyard in just 4 days. His new backyard kingdom has a swing set, patio set, swinging chairs and a bunch of new toys for Bryan. This wasn't the only surprise for the family... NHL hockey players Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon even visited the family that day and toured the yard. This was quite the gift for a special little boy!
