The next phase of the No More Homeless Pets mission will be to bring the number down to essentially zero. But getting there will take innovative efforts from within the animal welfare world and more importantly, the commitment and dedication of everyone who has a pet or cares about animals. By supporting our mission, you're helping to save the lives of millions of homeless pets. Visit us at http://bestfriends.org/

More than half the world's kids live in poverty — that's a big problem. But to put it in perspective, we could give every child in the world an education for $39 billion — $17 billion LESS than Americans spend every year on their PETS. So, yeah! We CAN make a difference! To help in the movement to eradicate poverty, Children International invests in child-development programs as the most effective way to break the cycle of poverty. Our unique, global approach provides kids with three essential elements:

• A team of caring people who inspire, encourage and support them: local doctors, dentists, coaches and caring staff who really know our kids, plus a remarkable group of committed volunteers (8,000+ worldwide!) and 300,000 supporters!

• A safe place: 75+ community centers located where our kids live — true oases of hope with clean, uplifting spaces that include medical offices, libraries, computer labs, tutoring areas, meeting spaces and playgrounds. Our centers are unique because few organizations become such integral parts of their communities, allowing the kids and their families to truly own their transformations.

• A path out of poverty that addresses the issues of health education, empowerment and employment through country-relevant and age-specific programs and services:

Series - Barely Breathing Ballerina

Ballerina Struggles to Balance Health, Family, and Work (Barely Breathing Ballerina E5)

Bailey Vincent desperately wants to get back to doing the things she loves as she battles a lung infection that followed her most recent surgery. In this episode of Barely Breathing Ballerina, she will stretch herself as far as she dares in order to participate in a family outing followed by a dance rehearsal with her Company360 youth ensemble.

It's a beautiful fall day as Bailey, husband John, and their two daughters, Kage and Follin, set out for nearby Snead's Farm to see their collection of animals, sample their delicious hot chocolate, and, hopefully, find that perfect pumpkin. Although she is deaf, Bailey strives to be a normal mom and wife despite her limits. Sometimes knowing sign language can be an advantage, especially when your daughter has a question and she is way on the other side of a pumpkin patch!

Bailey is unwilling to let her being deaf be a damper on her family life or her work life. Her creative answer to her condition is to add some ASL into the choreography as a way to incorporate her deafness and deaf culture, and make it something celebrated and beautiful. The far bigger issue for her when she gets to the studio is making sure that she paces herself so she is able to demonstrate and talk the Youth Company group through the movements without losing her breath.

Bailey is anxious to finish the dance training because there are only a few weeks to go before the scheduled performance. Although her health issues make it difficult, Bailey is inspired by her group and how much emotion they put into their dancing. "They always give me 110% of themselves. There's no way I can't give 100% of myself, in return," she says thankfully. "Despite the hardships, it's always worth it to get any amount of time with these beautiful dancers who give so much to me."

Although Bailey is still recovering, the joy she gets from spending time with her family and her dancers is the best medicine she could possibly get.

Food Rescue US is Fighting Hunger Through Technology

Co-Founder Kevin Mullins captured the essence of his App based organization that rescues unused food this way; "It's awesome for neighbors to be taking care of neighbors and that's really what Food Rescue US is all about."

Food Rescue US was started by two old friends--Kevin Mullins and Jeff Schacher. Kevin is a pastor and Jeff worked in the restaurant and tech industry. They took their experiences in their respective careers and applied them to achieve their goal of simplifying food rescue by using technology to connect donors, volunteers and receiving agencies.

The cornerstone of this effort is the Food Rescue US app which is FREE for anyone to download. Donors can enter the information of how much food they have to donate, what kind of food, etc. Volunteers can see which restaurants or grocery stores have food to donate so they can go pick it up and drop it off to the recipients. This prevents food waste and brings meals to people who are in dire need of them-- people in homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, Boys and Girls Clubs, churches, Veterans Hospitals, etc.

Kate Urbank, the Washington DC Site Director, has seen firsthand why individuals are drawn to this opportunity to help. "If you can't stand food waste, and it makes you crazy, then you know you can come volunteer and make a difference," she explains. "Our people really like technology and the flexibility of using an App and seeing how it works. "

Since its origin in 2011, Food Rescue US has saved more than 39 million pounds of food from the landfill and delivered over 30 million meals. They now operate in 14 states and Washington DC. CEO Carol Shattuck is hearing good things from volunteers, donors, and recipients, and is driven to press on. "We've impacted a lot of people and proven that our platform works."

Watch and see why more and more Individuals and communities are stepping up to become part of this effort that puts the power of technology in the hands of people to help them do good things.

Ryan's Recycling: 9-Year-Old Entrepreneur Goes Green and then Goes Global!

Ryan Hickman is a kid with a unique perspective about how he likes to spend his free time. "We all have our passions," he explains. "My only sport is recycling…which is probably not a sport to other kids, but it is to me…so it's a sport!"

In 2012 at the age of 3, Ryan went along with his dad, Damion, to the local recycling center and cashed in a few small bags of cans and bottles and quickly decided that recycling was in his future. The very next day, Ryan notified his parents that he wanted to give empty plastic bags to all their neighbors and maybe they would save their recyclables for him. Not only did the local neighbors rally to support Ryan' efforts, but so did their friends, families and co-workers. Today, Ryan has customers all over Orange County, CA.

Ryan has a passion to recycle and his goal is to keep cans and bottles from reaching the ocean where it's harmful to the environment. He now has his own web site and Instagram account and the T-Shirts that he sells are used to raise money for one of his favorite places, the Pacific Marine Mammal Center. "Ryan recycles because he wants to make a difference," his Dad noted. "I'm super proud as a parent…it's amazing."

Ryan spends a part of every week sorting thru cans and bottles from his customers and then he and his Dad take them in by the truckload to the local redemption center where they are unloaded, sorted and weighed. So far, Ryan estimates that he has recycled over 426,000 bottles and cans!

In 2016, Ryan's recycling story went viral and he has since been featured on web sites, television and radio stations around the planet including the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Ryan has been recognized internationally for his recycling efforts and was awarded the "2017 Citizen of the Year" by his hometown of San Juan Capistrano. The Orange County Register honored him as one of the 100 most influential people of 2017 and Ryan was selected in 2018 by MSN in their top 15 kids changing the world. He has also been featured in TIME Magazine for Kids and National Geographic as well as being designated a WHIZ KID in OC Family Magazine.

With all these accomplishments before his 10th birthday, imagine what Ryan will do in the next decade!

Veterinarian’s Home is Wildlife Rescue for Animals of All Kinds (Dr. Amy Jo’s Wild Life Part 2)

Outside of Fredericksburg, Texas, there's a 35 acre plot of land that might as well be called Dr. Amy Jo's Wild Habitat. A stroll on these grounds would put you face to face with raccoons, coyotes, cows, foxes, deer, skunks, rescue dogs, and even an African Oryx.

The glue that holds this menagerie together is the soothing presence of veterinarian Dr. Amy Jo Pilmer. "I seem to be able to calm them and they are very comfortable with me," she reflects. "My thought is because I spend so much time with them." Many of these animals were either rescued or brought to Amy when they were very young, and in many cases, near death. There was a baby deer that was found unresponsive on the side of the road and needed intravenous feeding to pull through. A Belted Galloway came to her with almost no control of her legs but has healed and grown under her watchful eyes. Numerous sick and ailing shelter dogs have recuperated on her ranch and gone on to find new, loving homes.

Healing seems to come naturally to Dr. Amy Jo and she particularly loves the care and nurturing of baby animals. But she also knows that inevitably those she rehabilitates will grow up and need to move on. "It's almost heartbreaking … it's like a kid when they turn 18," she reflected. "They don't want or need you anymore and they leave and go off to be their own animal."

Watch and meet Meatball, Fast Eddie and many of Amy Jo's other frisky critters and see what day-to-day life is like for a woman who seems to have a life giving touch, no matter what kind of a wild thing comes through her gate.

THE BIG DAY! - Today We Find Out The Sex Of The Baby! (The Creation Of Us E5)

In this episode of The Creation Of Us, Aydian and Jenilee will experience one of the most emotional milestones of a pregnancy - going for the ultrasound that will reveal to them the sex of their baby.

One of the most asked questions they have heard since they announced they were expecting is "Are you having a gender reveal party?" As a transgender couple, Aydian and Jenilee frequently need to explain their feelings about the words "sex" and "gender" in reference to their baby, and how important it is that these terms not be considered synonymous.

"Sex is biological," Aydian explains. "My sex is female but my gender is male. Gender is based on your inner feelings, how you want to be seen, and how you feel you are."

Jenilee adds that they won't know the gender of the baby for a while. "It can happen at any point. It's up to us to pick up on their cues. If it seems that the baby is not identifying with their sex, it's something to think about." The couple have a strong feeling that the little person they are bringing into the world should have the time to explore it for themselves and become whatever gender they choose to be.

During the ride for the ultrasound they, they excitedly discuss their expectations of what they will find out. Aydian doesn't have a strong feeling either way while Jenilee has an inkling of what she is about to learn.

What will it be? Join the couple for the big reveal and the emotional reactions when they tell their family and friends.

Chefs Honor Sailors and Their Families With a Holiday Feast to Remember (Random Acts of Cooking E1)

What would be a unique way to honor the service of 400 hungry sailors and their families for the holidays? You contact Chef Plum, have him round up his crew of top flight chefs and grill masters, bring in enough food to feed…well…the Navy, spice it up with a dash of top flight entertainment, and you have all of the ingredients for a memorable evening of food, love, and family!

This unique gathering is at the heart of this first episode of a new OnlyGood TV Series, Random Acts of Cooking. This series follows Chef Plum, an inspired chef who looks to spread the message of kindness and community through the power of food. In this debut episode, his team of chefs prepare and cook a special holiday meal at the US Navy Base in New London, Connecticut, while also teaching some of the sailors how to cook and use special techniques in the base galley.

"The universal language of happiness is food," Chef Plum explains. "That's what Random Acts of Cooking is - using that power to help other people and do something amazing with it."

Chief Petty Officer Jeremy Flake knows that being on active duty on a navy base, away from home, can be difficult for the sailors during the holidays. This event was a chance for the base community to share a wonderful meal as well as a special musical performance by American Idol 2015 winner Nick Fradiani. "To see all of the families come in, not just the sailors, it brings us together and today, makes us all whole," he said warmly.

Chef Plum uses his master culinary skills and his big heart to change people's lives using the connection that can only be achieved by sitting down around a table and sharing a meal with others. After Dudeoir's Photoshoot Goes Viral He Marries His Photographer! (Beauty Redefined E4)

Wedding bells are ringing! In this very personal episode of Beauty Redefined, we join Tami Bears and Josh Varozza at Hagen Ranch, in Plattsville, California, as their families gather to celebrate the joining of this unique couple and the start of their lives as husband and wife.

Tami was the photographer and Josh was the subject of an offbeat calendar of light-hearted photos that struck a chord with people across the country. Josh, a big guy with tattoos and an incomparable beard, struck "seductive" poses for the camera clad in patriotic attire and this series of "dudeoir shots" quickly went viral. Josh became a role model for people struggling to love themselves and Tami became much more than just a friend...they fell in love and got engaged!

"We were spending a lot of time together," Tami recalled," and I really liked him and grew attached and I knew life was better with him." Josh and Tami's relationship has brought together their two 13 year-olds, Josh's son Tyler and Tami's daughter Lexie. "Having a blended family has been one of the most unique experiences in my life," Josh explains. "They fought like cat and dogs at the start but now they get along. It's kind of interesting, and kind of scary."

Lexie has nothing but positive things to say about Josh coming into her life. "I live with them and I see everything that goes on behind the scenes," she shared. "He loves her and treats her so well. I couldn't have picked anyone better for her!"

Come along and see the fun and sweet elements that make up a wedding-- the vows, the first dance, the speeches and of course, the party! Josh and Tami describe their wedding as "non-traditional" so be ready for some surprises!
