Boston Marathon Survivor Jeff Bauman To Wed
(Source: Today Show, NBC)
Jeff Bauman was at the Boston Marathon last year cheering on his girlfriend when the bomb went off, and the photo of him being whisked away in a wheelchair by first responders and a cowboy-hat wearing stranger named Carlos Arrendo became an iconic symbol of the horrific event. (The two later appeared at Fenway Park for a memorable moment throwing out the first pitch at a Boston Red Socks game, watch the video here.) Bauman has announced that this girlfriend, Erin Hurley, is now his fiancée and the couple are also expecting a baby this summer. He wrote about his experience losing both legs and the extensive rehab that followed afterwards in a memoir, Stronger, that will be released to commemorate the first year anniversary of the event in April.
