56-Year-Old Actor Has Interview With His 18-Year-Old Self. Amazing!
How cool would it be if you could have a conversation with your younger self? Actor, award-winning author and filmmaker, Stoney Emshwiller got creative and did just that. In 1977, when he was just a teenager, Stoney recorded himself asking his future self a wide range of questions. With some careful camera work and state of the art equipment he made this 'interview' possible.
"Using state of the art — for its time — equipment, I recorded one side of a time-travel talk show," Emshwiller explains on his fundraiser page. "I sat in a well-lit chair in a completely black studio and, like some teenaged Johnny Carson, chatted with an invisible older me."
Not knowing what he would record in the future, he recorded tons of possible reactions to all the questions, "ranging from polite nods to joy, sadness, annoyance, surprise, and outright horror." At age 56, he 'sat down' with his 18-year-old self and answered tons of questions. This interview, 38 years in the making, is incredibly cool. It looks like he is really sitting down with his younger self! Very impressive.
