Yoga Instructor Gets Called Fat, Turns It Into An Opportunity For Self-Love
Yeah, she's not in shape at all -_-
When a student approached her after yoga class, Rachel Priest couldn't have predicted what came out of her mouth:
“Excuse me ma’am, I really enjoyed your yoga class tonight. But I wanted to come by and tell you that as a yoga teacher, you need to lose weight. Namaste.”
As if saying "Namaste," at the end made her comment a gesture of advice and guidance rather than a poorly informed diatribe no more creative or insightful than the act of wiping poop off your shoe. Apparently the student also questioned Priest's eating habits and PINCHED. HER. SIDE. as she turned what was a very good class into a blip, shadowed over by a crappy comment.
However, Priest was more ready for the unpleasant interaction than she might have thought. Having struggled through and eventually conquering an eating disorder, she was equipped with a life skill most of us would pay good money for. Rather than wallow in the wake of a stranger's cruel words, she turned the sudden mess into an opportunity to accept herself beneath a looming criticism. As she was, right there, in the skin and BMI Not easy!
