She Lost Her Ability to Walk, But Gained Love, Faith & Family

Here at OnlyGood TV, we celebrate women every day, through our stories of their bravery, heroism, and strength.

Do you believe that love conquers all? This story of Annette Ross and her family will convince you it does.

Annette and her husband Bill were living a fairy tale life in the upscale town of New Canaan, Connecticut, building a beautiful life together. They had one daughter and a second one on the way, but that's when things changed.

In 2000 while in labor with her second child, Annette suffered a spinal cord injury that left her confined to a wheelchair; her dream life she was living with Bill seemed to be shattered.

But life goes on and it has a way of working out. Annette still may be in the wheel chair, but she doesn't let that stop her from spending time with her family (she had three more daughters after her accident) and living her life. "I want people to learn that love is bigger than ourselves" says Annette.

With the love of her family and through the act of writing, Annette has overcome the tragedy in her life. "A lot of people write their way out of their situations and I wanted to do that." She recently wrote and released a book titled Where Fairy Tales Go: A Love Story that shares the details of her life. "Life is bitter-sweet and I'm more at peace with that after writing this book."

Annette Ross's Where Fairy Tales Go: A Love Story is available on Amazon.

Hungry Harvest is Rescuing Ugly Produce To Feed The Needy

** OGTV encourages everyone to get involved in National Eat Your Vegetables Day, even if the produce doesn't look perfect. After all it's all in the flavor! **

Every year 20 billion pounds of produce goes to waste, never leaving the farm, based on appearance. Too big, too small, misshapen, whatever the reason, healthy, edible food is left to rot while millions go hungry. Hungry Harvest is an organization that aims to reduce food waste while getting quality produce to those in need.

The CEO and Co-Founder Evan Lutz started this company while still in college. He had the brainstorm that he could solve two problems at once by using one to solve the other. "I started a project that used one farmer's surplus produce to sell to college students at the University of Maryland," he explained. "I set up a farm stand in the basement of a dorm. After 6 months, 500 customers were coming to our stand every week. That's when I knew this idea could really take off."

Kids rarely get to celebrate when they are in the hospital and having a birthday there is not the ideal situation. After seeing her godson spend some time in the hospital, surrounded by kids who were having their birthdays without the laughter and joy that comes with their special day, Stefanie Grimm had an idea. Even if you are hospitalized, there is no reason that you shouldn't have a birthday party! This generous thought was the seed that grew into The Confetti Foundation.
