Why Sleep Is A Sign Of Diligence, Not Laziness
Though we love it, sleep definitely gets a bad rap. Those who get ample amounts of shut-eye come off as apathetic, lazy, or irresponsible. However, sleep is more necessary than we might have realized. UC Berkley psychology professor, Matt Walker, says there is no one "holy grail" reason we sleep. We need rest for "a whole constellation of different functions for both the brain and the body."
This includes solving problems, forming relationships, functioning well in social situations, and managing our emotions.
