Why Not Be Bold And Schedule A Family Night In
(Source: Family Circle)
Scheduling a night at home can be similar, and just as important, as planning a night out for a family. Having time unplugged from technology is good for everyone, adults included. There might be some eye-rolling at the idea, but kids need to know that their company is appreciated and spending time together is a priority. Let them make suggestions for a shared activity to show how their input matters, and choose things that encourage teamwork, not competition. If not a whole evening, perhaps an hour would do -- it's a great way to start anyway.
