University of Cincinnati Offers Free Tuition To Sons Of Fallen Officer
Cincinnati police officer Sonny Kim was recently killed in the line of duty. The University of Cincinnati found out about the story and that Kim had three sons and a wife that he had left behind, so the school decided to help them out.
Santa J. Ono, President of UC, said that the average cost for a four-year degree at UC is about $50,000.
"Our scholarship to the Kim children we will be on top of any support from the Ohio Safety Officers fund," Ono said. "They can use it for room and board, books and study abroad."
Along with the funds for college, a GoFundMe page has been started by Mason Police Association President Derek Bauman adn has raised over $120,000 for the family.
