Two Boys Grow Their Hair To Help Cancer Patients
Two eight-year-old boys committed to growing their hair out for years so that they could donate it to help young caner patients.
The first boy, Christian McPhilamy, decided to start growing his hair out at the end of 2012 after he had seen a St. Jude Children's Research Hospital commercial. After his mother, Deeanna Thomas, explained to Christian that people can grow their hair and have it donated to help those cancer patients, Christian was all in.
Even though Christian was teased about his long hair and even sometimes mistaken for a girl, his mother said that he never even thought about giving up.
"Christian has such a huge heart," Thomas said. "I don't even know if there are words to describe how proud I am of him."
All of Christian's hard work finally came to an end when he was able to donate 4 10-inch long sections of hair!
Around the same time, another 8-year-old boy, know as Adrian, also donated hair that he had been growing for a long time to help those with cancer. Adrian appeared in a post on Facebook that also went viral.
Great job boys, keep up the good work!
