Trees Assigned Email Addresses Get Love Letters From Citizens
So we have all heard of tree huggers, but how about tree pen pals? Well, certain trees in Melbourne, Australia were assigned email addresses so that citizens can report problems, such as dangerous branches, but the public took it one step farther.
People have began sending messages to these trees through their email addresses, some asking questions like "do trees have genders?" and others simply writing love letters to the trees!
The chair of Melbourne’s Environment Portfolio, Councillor Arron Wood, said that the reaction was an “unintended but positive consequence”.
“The email interactions reveal the love Melburnians have for our trees,” Wood said.
Maybe of you are lucky you will even get a response!
