The Surprise Baby Shower That Jenilee Will Never Forget (The Creation Of Us - E4)

Jenilee thinks Aydian is taking her to Naples, Florida for a visit with her Mom and to reconnect with family members that she hasn't seen in a while. What she doesn't know is that Aydian has planned a much bigger surprise which will bring her tears of joy.

Aydian Dowling, Trans Activist, Entrepreneur/Owner Point5cc.com, Fitness Enthusiast and Motivational Speaker, and his wife, Jenilee, were married in 2012 and continue to live and share with others the challenges of being a transgender couple, and now the excitement of expecting their first baby together.

A Baby Shower marks a special moment in the journey to begin a family, especially for a first time mom-to-be. It's been a long time between family visits with Jenilee and Aydian living in Oregon, a long way from Jenilee's family in Florida and Aydian's Mom in Long Island, NY.

Although far in distance, everyone in the family has had Jenilee and Aydian on their mind. They are aware that it was not easy for Jenilee to get pregnant and everyone is excited to get together to celebrate.

"Jenilee kept getting so upset that it wasn't working" reflected her mom, Mary Lou. "But I told her not to worry. It would all happen in perfect timing." Mom's confidence was prophetic and Jenilee's patience was rewarded.

It was just as important for Aydian to have his mom, Anna Marie, at the shower, since she had always been generous with her advice and supportive of her child's life choices. "The reason I don't listen to all the negativity is because you taught me to be a really strong girl, and not let people downgrade who I am because of their fears," he shared with her. "After my transition, I feel that I've taken that into my manhood."

Tune in to see the surprise guests, the adorable gifts, and some intimate conversations about what this new baby means to everyone in the family.

Farm Becomes Sanctuary for Animals After Tragedy

The impetus for the creation of the Ima Survivor Animal Sanctuary was the awful week in August 2017 when Hurricane Harvey meandered about southeast Texas unleashing biblical amounts of rain and wreaking havoc on the people and animals who lived there. The survival of a donkey named Ima Jean from 6 foot flood waters, her struggle to live and the fight to survive by her and the other animals from Lester Morrow's ranch is the inspiration for this unique habitat.

Using Music and Art to Build Friendships on the Border

In a small, brightly decorated building only a stone's throw from the border wall between Mexico and the USA, 50 to 100 children a week come to do hands-on art projects, learn a musical instrument, or just socialize with others. In this special place, Director Gretchen Baer's mission is to show kids that anything is possible if you think creatively, no matter who you are or where you came from.

Nonprofit Studio Mariposa is a free transformative art center for kids in Naco, Mexico, along the Arizona border. For the past three years, kids come to the small studio once a week where Gretchen and her volunteers set up art projects and music lessons. The art projects include painting, making bracelets, mosaics and weaving on a loom.

Comedians Prove Laughter is the Best Medicine

This could be one of our favorite "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" stories…. literally.

Back in 1999, Saranne Rothberg, a New York City actor, received a cancer diagnosis and began a difficult regimen of therapy. Rather than being dragged down by sadness, Saranne tapped into the healing powers of humor. Once she began feeling better, she realized it could work for others, too, and the idea for Comedy Cures was born.
