Stranded Former NFL Player Swims 27 Miles To Safety
Rob Konrad, former NFL Dolphin was on a fishing trip alone when a wave crashed into the boat knocking him off. The boat was on autopilot so it sailed away leaving him stranded. The 'Dolphin' swam for 16 hours to shore. What started as a 9 mile swim ended up being an estimated 27 miles with the current pushing him further away. Konrad knew all he could do was swim and keep swimming. "I'm not dying tonight, I've got two beautiful daughters. I was hitting that shore," Konrad said. The love for his daughters kept him going all the way to safety.
