3 Stories To Inspire Love in Your Heart This Valentine's Day

"There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment," says Sarah Dessen, author of The Truth About Forever. These 3 love stories—amazing, inspiring, and totally unique—give credence to the idea that love emerges and grows in an infinite number of ways.

1) A Fairytale Wedding: Couple Reunites After 50 Years

When they were in college in 1961, Janice and Prentiss fell in love. It all happened fast; they got engaged and were planning to get married before Prentiss had met Janice's parents. But after the couple visited Janice's home, her father rejected their union. He went so far as forbidding the two from seeing each other, telling Janice that he would stop paying for her classes. So Janice and Prentiss ended their relationship and went on to separate lives. Though they never forgot one another, both married other people.

Years later, Prentiss found the newspaper clipping from their engagement in his mother's belongings. Janice found the same clipping in her mother's things. Unlike Janice's father, both mothers knew that Janice and Prentiss should be together. Decades after the couple parted, they ran into each other! Both took this as a beautiful sign they were meant for each other. 50 years after they met, they finally got married.

2) A Commuter Love Story: Romance Across the Aisle

Long commutes to work can be dreadful, but their time spent on Metro-North trains turned out to be life-changing for Susan and John—in a very positive way! It was John who noticed Susan first, and she was surprised by his boldness, as John made his admiration clear by regularly looking over at Susan during their commutes.

"I was loving every minute of it," Susan admits! This compatible experience was a hint of what was to come for this couple.

Both John and Susan say that they would rush to make the specific train that they knew that the other usually took. And finally, after riding the same trains together and watching one another from afar for nearly two months, Susan finally worked up the nerve to sit next to John. The pair formed an instant connection and got married soon after!

"I don't know if I believe in fate, but I do believe it was meant to be," says Susan about the serendipity of meeting her husband in a particular car on a particular train all those years ago. And the rest is history.

3) How Two People From Different Worlds Found Love

Love has no boundaries. No matter who you are or WHERE you are, love has the power to bring people together. In this story, two unlikely partners from two totally different worlds fell in love.

"The first sentence he spoke to me was, 'Do you have WeChat?'" Gezi remembers, of her initial meeting with Peter]. Despite this not being the most romantic of questions, it led to a conversation between the two, and eventually a date!

Peter credits the success of his relationship with Gezi to how natural the two feel around one another. And for people from opposite sides of the world, that certainly sounds like fate to us.

We hope you enjoyed these inspiring love stories as much as we did! If you have a similar story, we'd love to hear it!

Young Inventor Helps Kids Find Comfort in Hospitals

** To commemorate Kid Inventors Day, OGTV is sharing this story about a young girl who redirected her fear from a hospital stay into the creation of a device that makes these visits a little less scary for other kids in the same situation. **

The only good part of a hospital stay is the end of it – the moment you go through the doors and know you are heading home. As stressful as this can be for an adult, it is exponentially worse for a young child. Ella Casano was one of those kids suddenly plucked out of normal life by an unpronounceable diagnosis and thrust into a daily routine of painful treatment, fear-stricken parents and the prospect of long periods away from home. Though she was really scared, she saw her situation from a kid's "how do I beat this" perspective and envisioned something that could make the experience just a little bit easier for herself and others like her.
