Father-Son Duo Keeps Shoe Repair Business Alive
The family that resoles together, stays together. That's how the age-old saying goes right? The Wilton Shoemakers business is run by Chris and his sons. Operating out of a restored corn crib (yup, there is actually a name for where chicken corn was stored) for 40 years, this family shoe making business is still going strong.
Although the storefront is so small, they manage to fit all their equipment in the small space and have fast turnaround, making them the perfect place to go for a quick fix. Chris has been teaching his sons his trade, but wants them to pursue other occupations just in case their 112 square-foot business doesn't work out.
Watch and see what the future holds for Chris' tiny Connecticut family business. "If the time comes, hopefully someone will take over this business for me and then I'll be immortal!" Chris said.
