Sheryl Crow Surprises Hometown High School With Gifts For Teachers
You probably know more than a few of Grammy winner Sheryl Crow's hits, but what you might not have known was that after she gradated from Kennett High School in Missouri, she became a teacher. Although she ultimately decided to follow dreams of becoming a musician, she never forgot what she learned from the teachers that inspired her.
As a part of a special Valentine's Day series on "Today," Crowe made a surprise visit to her alma mater during what students thought was routine pep rally to present teachers with checks on behalf of Farmers Insurance and Adopt a Classroom to assist with classroom supplies.
"I want everybody to give a big round of applause for your teachers," she said. "They spent their own money in making sure you have what you need in the classroom."
