Carol Clark, 56, a sixth-grade elementary school teacher from Cudahy, California, was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. The teacher used up all of her sick and vacation time on doctor's visits and chemo treatments. Unfortunately, with none left- she started losing her salary. Her husband reached out to fellow teachers. He asked for a few people to donate some vacation days to his wife. He thought maybe they'd get around 20. Well, word got out and people who didn't even know the beloved teacher started donating their days. She was overwhelmed when she found out she received 154 days. Clark was able to make up the pay that she'd lost, while reserving sick days for future medical needs.
