Ruff! Today Is Bring Your Dog To Work Day
Businesses and offices are going to the dogs today. It's Bring Your Dog To Work Day, an annual event started in 1999 by the North Carolina-based Pet Sitters International in order to celebrate man’s best friend as well as raise interest in adopting pets from local shelters, rescue groups, and humane societies.
Participation in the event, celebrated on the third Friday in June, has increased steadily over the years. In 2010, three percent of workers reportedly brought their dogs into work, up from one percent in 2004, according to the American Pet Products Association.
