Rockin Wall Street
JP Reis and Lighthouse International had a great night on 12th September when we hosted our open mic night, Rocking Wall Street, in New York. Thanks to everyone who attended and donated!
Rocking Wall Street was billed as a night of free musical expression but most performers chose to bring their whole bands. This was an excellent decision as they were all outstanding. Suspenders Bar was packed and everyone enjoyed themselves. With donations on the night, successful bids in our charity auction and through our First Giving page we were able to raise over $6,000!
This event was inspired by Benjamin LaSala, a tough little guy who was born over 4 months early. As a "micro preemie" - he was just 1lb 12oz when he arrived - Benjamin has severely impaired vision. His parents wanted to do something to thank Lighthouse International who supported them with this aspect of his struggle. To find out more about Ben's adventures you can read his blog here.
Lighthouse International has led the charge in the fight against vision loss through prevention, treatment and empowerment for over 106 years. Find out more about Lighthouse International.
