Photographer Captures Intimate Moments On Subways Around The World
In 2007, Stan Raucher created a series titled "Metro" in which depicts the private moments of subway travelers in more than a dozen countries and four continents. Within these portraits, the subjects take on an appearance far more dynamic than what we've grown accustomed to as travelers ourselves. Typically, faces we pass disappear into the sea of the rest of them. Raucher's series gives us the opportunity to sit down, look, and ponder the lives of people who unknowingly shared intimate moments with the world. We'll likely never meet them, but that doesn't make the potential of their lives any less interesting.
