Penn State Hosts THON, A Non-Stop Fundraising Dance Party!
THON is a student-run philanthropy committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Every year Penn State hosts a dance marathon to raise money for pediatric cancer patients. This 46-hour non-stop dance party benefits kids like Logan through medical payments, research, and support. The mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness and ensure funding for critical research - all in pursuit of a cure.
THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world with over 16,500 student volunteers. Because it started in 1973, there is a lot of history behind the annual dance marathon. The 46-hour dance marathons have helped 3,700 families and raised 147,000,000 dollars.
