'Operation' Game Creator Receives Financial Help From Fellow Inventors
The creator of the much loved children's game Operation is in need of an operation himself. As a young college kid when he created the game he sold the rights for just $500. Years later, Spinello says he's not bitter that he didn't get rich, he's just happy he was able to make people laugh. But now he needs some help financially. Other toy makers responded by creating a donor drive and donating to help a fellow inventor. John Spinello commented that he has had people come up to him and explain that because of his creation they have become doctors.
Now that he has enough money for his oral operation he can afford to laugh with a big smile too.
