Olympic Fencer Brings Mentoring Program To Schools
In celebration of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio this weekend, we introduce you to Olympic Silver Medalist fencer Tim Morehouse. In 2011, Morehouse founded Fencing In the Schools in order to expose children to the sport while also getting them moving and promoting the Olympic ideals of excellence, respect, and friendship. Fencing In the Schools went to Harlem, NY to Democracy Prep, where we meet Keenan. Keenan is an 8th grader at Democracy Prep, and has seen major improvements in himself both mentally and physically since he was introduced to the sport.
