My Story Of Paying It Forward This Holiday Season
My dad called me this morning with what I thought would just be the usual "Hello, how's your day?" But he asked if I had a minute to hear a wonderful story. I always have a minute for a wonderful story! So he proceeded to tell me about his morning. He went out for breakfast, by himself, like he sometimes likes to do. He enjoyed watching a young father interacting with his son. My dad explained that the father showed so much love for his son that is was obvious the great relationship they had. My dad felt happy just being able to witness such a thing. Time went on, my dad finished his breakfast and went to pay his bill. The waitress said "Don't worry about it. The father with his son took care of your bill for you." My dad was overwhelmed with gratitude. That guy didn't know my dad. But he did something kind for a stranger. That is what this season is all about. That is what every day of the year should be about; random acts of kindness and paying it forward. My family and I intend to pay this kindness forward. If we all go out today, tomorrow or the next day and do something nice for someone, we are that much closer to a world run by love. So I ask you to join me in paying kindness forward. Let's make this season and coming year the best one yet.
