Must Watch: A World Series Victory and a Beautiful Engagement Back-to-Back!
For a professional athlete, not much can overshadow winning a national championship—except, perhaps, getting engaged to the love of your life! This story is simply overflowing with joy.
Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa had already decided to propose to his girlfriend, Daniella Rodriguez, before his team racked up win after win to advance to the World Series. But he hadn't yet decided how he would do it (we imagine that he had a few other things on his mind!), and he had an inkling that he might be able to pop the question on a rather large stage.
"I was like OK, so we have a championship-caliber team, so let me wait it out..." he says.
Fortunately for him, his team, and the whole city of Houston, Correa's idea played out perfectly. The Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers had made it to a deciding game 7 after a rollercoaster series of back-and-forth victories, and when Houston came out on top 5-1, it was hard not to be happy for the city that is still in recovery from Hurricane Harvey's landfall not long ago.
And fortunately for all of us, Correa's sweet proposal was caught on video! Let the happy tears flow, as they surely did for many Astros players last night, as you enjoy this beautiful moment.
