Longest Animal Shelter Resident Finally Finds Home
Nearly 3 years ago Tank, a 6-year-old American bulldog was left at NYC's Top Dog shelter. “He was just left here,” said Top Dog owner Pedro Rosario. “It was sad. We thought he’d be here for a short stay, but he was here for nearly three years.” The adorable 110 pound pup has become a sort of mascot at the shelter and favorite to everyone he meets. But he sadly gets overlooked to puppies and smaller dogs when it comes to adoption. Tank's sweet demeanor finally caught the attention of Gabriel Maldonado, a real estate worker who started volunteering at the shelter in early 2014. Gabriel found himself thinking about Tank a lot when he was home and realized he had to make him a permanent part of his family. The dog who only knew shelter life for 3 years finally has a loving family of his own.
