11-Year-Old Sells Lemonade To Buy Wheelchairs For Others
Zack's Shack is so much more than a lemonade and cookie stand. Inspired by a school-wide competition to raise money to purchase wheelchairs for people in developing countries, Zack decided he wanted to keep up the fundraising and do it every year. Now, 8 years later, Zack has raised enough money for more than 300 wheelchairs to give to others in need.
"It feels good to know that you're actually helping someone. Someone who can't walk has the ability now. They can get a job and live their lives the way they want to. Everytime I sell a cookie, I'm one step closer to changing someone's life," said Zack.
To date, Zack has raised over $60,000! In Zack's most recent fundraising venture, Zack's Shack was joined by Helen's Hut; Zack's younger sister Helen has also joined the cause! Together they one day hope to travel to third world countries to deliver the wheelchairs they donate themselves to those in need!
"He's the best big brother in the whole world. His siblings look up to him. He has a huge heart."
Zack's mission has gone national as well! He has been interviewed by news programs and was even featured on the Steve Harvey Show! Learn more about Zack and why "it feels so great to give" in this inspiring video.
