'Kindest Kid' Contest Winner Teaches Us What Being Kind Truly Means
Sprout Network has launched it's 'Kindest Kid' contest. Michele Lepe, from the network's 'The Good Night Show", was on TODAY to talk about the contest which asks kids to write in about the kind things they do to help others. 7-year-old Emma Locke beat out 650 other kids to become Sprouts 'Chief Kindness Officer'. Emma wrote in to the show explaining how she started Lock Boxes of Love, which sends customized toy boxes to siblings of children fighting terminal illnesses. In her interview she says, "It's good to be kind. It feels great. It's bad to be mean. It's just a bad place to end up. It ends up being a very lonely life." Wow, how old is she?! Those are some wise words from such a young girl.
