Keepin' The Heat
As I sat dipping chips into the hot version of salsa, I realized that even though summer is coming to an end, I still find ways to keep the "heat" in my life throughout the fall in winter months. Here are some ideas for keeping some spice and warmth.
Pick up your favorite brand of salsa and make sure to have your favorite chips on hand. I love any “hot” version of salsa and eat it any time of year. It brings me back to the warm days of summer with fresh guacamole. Have a margarita too!
Choose Hot Sausage
Whip up pasta dishes with a jar of sauce, pasta, and then sautee and brown some hot sausage to mix into the sauce. It’s like a homemade meat sauce without the time. Add in some red pepper flakes to make it extra spicy.
Whether you like it with beef, ground turkey, or just beans, chili definitely warms the stomach and soul in the wintertime. It may not be a summertime food, but it’s sure to give your taste buds a kick!
