Jack Black Visits Homeless Boy In Uganda & Delivers Powerful Message
You've probably heard about 'Red Nose Day' which took place on May 21st. It is a campaign dedicated to raising money for children in poverty by simply having fun and making people laugh. Dozens of actors stand behind the cause and are doing what they can to help.
Jack Black traveled to Uganda to take a closer look at the lives of homeless children there. The actor documented his journey, promising to use it to help make a difference. This video is very touching and brought me to tears. You'll see if was very hard for Jack to hold back his emotions, too.
The actor spent a day with Felix, a 12-year-old homeless boy. It is heartbreaking to see the conditions he lives under. The young boy sleeps on the streets among strangers. He gets money by selling empty bottles to recycling stores. But what is the one thing he wants most in life? An education. It is so eye opening to see how important something, we often take for granted, is to those who don't have it. The campaign and wonderful people like Jack are working to give Felix and kids like him the education and life they so desperately want and deserve.
