How To Finally Become A Morning Person

One of my New Year's resolutions is to become a morning person. I feel like I've been trying for years... maybe with these tips this is my year! Some of these I have tried but some I haven't. Do you have any tips for me?

Have your first activity of the day be something you love. Let's face it, we are more willing to do things we love. So start your morning with your favorite playlist, a walk or your favorite meal. This way you have something to look forward to each morning.

Plan out the "hard" things the night before. Make sure all your meals are prepped the night before. This way, you don't have to worry about cutting up all the fruit for your smoothy at 6am.

Go to bed earlier. I was recently told by my doctor you need 7-8 hours of sleep per night, no more, no less. So if you aren't getting this plan your bed time accordingly.

Set an alarm clock at night. Set an alarm for an hour before bedtime. This will remind you to start winding down and shutting off all electronics.

Put your alarm clock across the room. That dang snooze button gets me every morning. If you put your alarm clock away from you it will be harder for you to keep hitting the button. And it forces you to physically get out of bed.

Commit to waking up early for 21 days. It is believed that it takes 21 days to break or create a habit. So each day for 21 days, commit to waking up an hour earlier. You will hate it at first but just keep telling yourself it's just for 21 days. But then by the time 21 days rolls around, hopefully, you will be programmed to waking up earlier.

Become accountable with a friend who also wants to wake up earlier. Have a morning wake up buddy. Text or call each other when you wake up.
