Hospital Staff Gives Wedding To Deserving Cancer Patient
Love is in the air at Good Samaritan Hospital in Long Island, New York. Keith Borum has been battling non-Hodgkins lymphoma for the past year. While he has been a patient he has spent a lot of time getting to know the staff. He also gets frequent visits from his girlfriend of 3 years. The staff quickly learned of their love and that Keith wanted to propose but couldn't afford it.
Sadly, the couple recently learned Keith's cancer was terminal. This made them want to get married sooner than they expected. But again, Keith couldn't afford it. The caring staff stepped in and raised money for the couple. His caregivers worked together to give them the wedding they so much deserve!
“We know they didn’t have the means to do exactly what they wanted, so we all just came together. We had flowers donated, cakes donated. We raised money for the rings. We just worked together, put this whole thing together for them just so they can have something to remember before he passed.” Christina Ware, a hospital nurse, told CNN.
Everything came together for a beautiful celebration. Nurses and family members came together in Borum’s room for the joyous occasion. After the couple was pronounced husband and wife, they said they couldn’t be happier. We wish them all the happiness in the world, and Keith a full recovery!
