Homeless Teen Graduates At The Top Of His Class
Griffin Furlong of Jacksonville, FL is not your typical run-of-the-mill high school student.
After losing his mother at the age of six, Griffin and his father and brother found themselves struggling to make ends meet and for years spent their lives living on the streets or in homeless shelters. Just when his family was finally getting back on track, just a few weeks before graduation, this high school senior found himself homeless again.
However, Griffin did not use his issues at home as an excuse; he used it as motivation. Not only did Griffin graduate high school, he was the valedictorian of his class boasting a 4.65 GPA. His academic success led to his acceptance into Florida State University, where he will study civil engineering.
Congratulations on all of your accomplishments, Griffin!
