Here Are The Best (And Worst) Habits Of Smart People
Alright, so if we avoid the "bad" habits and embrace some of the good ones, we'll get smarter. Or, at least we'll appear smarter (yay!) and honestly, it doesn't seem like it's that hard. All we have to do is:
- Read for fifteen minutes every day. This is not long; it's like half an episode of Parks & Rec (not even). You can definitely do yourself the favor of exposing that beautiful brain of yours to 1,000,000 words a year.
- Set goals/set goals with friends. The buddy system works! Go to the gym with a friend, write a story with a friend, eat better with a friend, etc. Make friends, and realize your ambitions together. Success is best when you can high-five your partner at the finish line.
- Exercise some self-control for goodness' sake. No one is saying you have to live life like a long-haired virgin in an ivory tower. Just let your mind explore the perks about being a human that don't involve the horizontal charleston.
- Think about thinking. You're not going to be accused of being a hippy if you get a little meta every once in a while. Thinking about how we think about things could not only reveal something hidden and amazing about yourself, it could also impress the hell out of your peers, Especially if you refer to it as "metacognition."
