Generous Stranger Pays Off Landslide Victim's Mortgage
Generous does not quite give justice to the kind stranger who helped a man down on his luck. In a recent landslide, Tim Ward lost everything; his wife and house. He was severely injured and his dog lost a leg. But things started to look up for the grieving man when a stranger stepped in.
An anonymous donor heard Ward's tragic story and wanted to help. This angel paid off Ward's $360,000 mortgage. He doesn't want recognition or thanks. He just wanted to help.
Darcy Donohoe-Wilmot, a spokeswoman for Chase Bank, said the donor is a JPMorgan Chase private-bank client. “He contacted his banker and said he wanted to help,” Donohoe-Wilmot said. “He said, ‘How much is the mortgage?’ and said he wanted to pay it off.”
While going through an unimaginably difficult time, Ward can worry a little less thanks to this generous deed.
