Future 5 'Connects' Low Income Students With Their Full Potential In College!

Future 5 believes in all the potential of high school students! Founded in 2009 by Clif McFeely this mentoring program believes that all of Stamford CT's high school students should be connected to their full life's potential, regardless of income or family circumstances.

They do this by offering motivated students an opportunity for membership in a caring community. A community that helps them connect with themselves and the character traits of optimism, determination, and grit.

Future 5 volunteers do whatever it takes to help students stay on track through high school and achieve a plan for college or career training.

Their success directly impacts the high school population, the community at large, as well as the companies that operate in Stamford. This amazing organization stands for “The power of connection," by which they connect each student to the 5C's: Community, Coaches, Colleges, Careers and most importantly to their better Character and why that's so important.

Smelanda, a first generation Haitian Future 5 student, was accepted into Denison University on a full scholarship! This is truly a dream come true. A heartwarming note from the Dension Development Office below says it all. Pictured with proud alums Polly Perkins Johnson and Jane Hickok.

If you hadn't shared the photo earlier today, I never would have recognized her or introduced myself. And I never would have been on the receiving end of that beautiful smile nor had a wonderful conversation with such a thoughtful, interesting young woman. She told me about the classes she had sat in on and how much she enjoyed the professors and how they made the students think closely and critically about problems and issues. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed my brief time with her and how much I look forward to getting to know her over the next four years. She's going to be a terrific addition to the Denison family.
