Fundraising ‘Joyride’ Puts A Positive Spin On Tragic Event
** In recognition of Human Rights Day, OGTV is sharing this story of community support, dignity, and self-affirmation in response to the mass shooting in an Orlando nightclub. **
After a tragedy, love, support and togetherness are needed most. Adam Keller and Jared Marinelli, best known around the world for their 'viral flash mob wedding proposal video', were deeply affected by the 2016 Pulse Nightclub tragedy in Orlando. The couple knew they wanted to do something to give back to all those affected.
While Jared and Adam already have a full schedule teaching classes at JoyRide, they decided to team host several "Fundraiser Rides" to help the victim's families. "Creating a safe space, a sense of community, and bringing everyone together," Jared stated. "That's the only way to fight hatred. It's the only way to make changes."
After one of the very spirited rides that they hosted, Adam was inspired by how his local community came together in a time of need. "We've team taught more times than I can remember," he reflected, "and I think this was truly the best one and absolutely the most meaningful, for sure!"
Adam and Jared's series of classes were able to raise more than $5K (and counting) for Equality Florida's Pulse Victims Fund, which benefits the victims of the mass shooting, including the victims' families and survivors in need of support. Watch and hear how this local Connecticut community pedaled together to show their support for a community in pain in Orlando.

Thank you Adam, Jared and JoyRide for organizing and leading the inspiring #OrlandoStrong fundraising rides in all the Fairfield County, CT studios.
