Fry 'Em Up For National French Fries Day!
Tomorrow is National French Fries Day! You might think it's strange for an owl to like french fries, but I love 'em! So be careful if you're eating them outside this summer.
Maybe it's not the best complement to a meal, but they sure are tasty! And in honor of National French Fries Day, I went on a hunt for some fun spins on America’s favorite fried potato: the french fry. Here I am sharing some recipes that definitely look good to me, but what about you?
Don’t these look tasty? I have to say that I’m not a fan of cooked carrots, but if the creator of these great “fries” thinks they’re a “quiet specialty” then I’ll have to take her word for it!
I may be one of those oddballs that actually enjoys asparagus, but sometimes you need a little something different to change it up, like these baked asparagus fries with not one, but three different dipping sauces! I can’t wait to try this one out!
I’m sure we’ve all heard of her, or even watched her famous Christmas giveaways episode, but I have to admit I’ve never tried an Oprah-recommended recipe, not to mention five. When I stumbled across these recipes, I won’t lie, I started to salivate a bit. Too much information? I think not.
I have to save the simplest version, yet best, for last. The recipe calls for peanut oil, but I’m not a fan of that flavor, so I would probably go with canola or vegetable oil. And since I own a deep fryer, I can’t wait to try this one out!
Tell me, do any of these versions of french fries interest you? Will you be enjoying some french fries tomorrow, on fabulous National French Fries Day?
