This Teen's Fundraiser Is Providing Free Sunscreen To Visitors Of Missouri Pools
With rising temperatures and UV indexes, Lynly Brennan decided that no one should go without sunscreen. Now, the sixteen-year-old from St. Louis, Missouri is raising funds to install free sunscreen dispensers at local pools.
It started as a research project for a class at school; Brennan wanted to raise awareness for skin cancer. She's now helping prevent skin cancer by offering free sunscreen at local pools.
Brennan managed to raise $1600 for dispensers at five pools. She did so by sending 43 letters to local dermatologists, pool patrons, and even locals in the city asking for donations. Brennan's idea is sitting very well with pool goers and with St. Louis' temperatures rising into the triple digits, staying safe and healthy is something everyone should be thinking about.
